Anusara is probably the youngest style of yoga around today. Founded in 1997 as an offshoot of Hatha yoga, this practice has a much more philosophical bend than most other practices. Anusara emphasizes the set of Universal Principles of Alignment that deals with the connection between our heart and body and mind. One of the main goals of Anusara yoga is to open our hearts to others.
Along with the expected benefits of any yoga practice, Anusara yoga also aims to help our hearts. With a large focus on our spiritual selves, this is the yoga meant for people who want to be more in touch with themselves spiritually through a physical means.
